SEREMBAN: ‘Pasar Waghih Kito’ that was officiated by the Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Hasan on 7th April 2018 was one of the state government’ initiative to help food producers and consumers. The market offers discounts up to 30 percent and is scheduled to take place twice a month at the Pasar Komuniti dan Karavan (PAKAR), Paroi.

According to the Menteri Besar, the market can offer huge discounts because the market is organized by the state government without involving middlemen thus reducing process significantly. He also said “Red chillies were RM5 cheaper than the market price, as well as river fish. Moreover, chickens were priced at RM9 per kilogram elsewhere while it was offered at RM5.60 here.”

Visitors that were interviewed were thrilled with the market and hoped that these types of initiatives were continuously implemented by the government as it helps the community immensely.

Also present were Negeri Sembilan State Secretary Dato’ Seri Haji Mat Ali bin Hasan, Chairman of the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee Dato’ Haji Hasim bin Rusdi as well as representatives from state departments.
