Kuala Pilah, 13 April 2021 (Korporat SUKNS) – Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Mukhriz Almarhum Tuanku Munawir and his consort, Tunku Ampuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Aishah Rohani Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud graced a luncheon with the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan at the Terachi Cultural Village, Kuala Pilah. Also present were their sons YAM Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin and YAM Tunku Zain Al’Abidin.

On arrival, the royal family was greeted by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Aminuddin Harun and his wife, Datin Seri Wan Hasni Wan Yusof and State Secretary, Dato’ Dr. Razali Ab Malik.

Meanwhile, The Negeri Sembilan State Government is committed to making Kuala Pilah its latest tourist destination, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Aminuddin Harun. Aminuddin said the district was known for its mountains and waterfalls, adding that the state government had planned various tourism activities to attract more tourists to Kuala Pilah such as the 'Ngoca' festival to be hosted at the Terachi Cultural Village here in September. The annual ‘Ngoca’ festival, which is a shing activity in paddy elds, was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Aminuddin said the programmes planned would ensure that the cultural village would be known internationally, adding that this would also raise the villagers’ income. "Another effort made is the cultivation of glutinous rice known as Sri Menanti glutinous rice apart from normal types of rice cultivated by the locals," he told reporters after attending a luncheon with the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, here today.

A total of eight ponds were provided in the Terachi Batu 17 Irrigation Scheme area for the ‘Ngoca’ activity. Aminuddin said the location would also be the first paddy football held in the country where apart from football, other folk games could also be played that would attract tourists to visit the state, adding that tourists could also visit the Old Palace of Seri Menanti as well as other traditional houses located in the district.
