JELEBU:
Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan launched the Sungai Triang Dam in Jelebu on 23rd March.

The dam which was worth RM148 Million was built on the basis of providing enough untreated water to water treatment plants in Negeri Sembilan.

The construction was the 5th phase under Projek Skim Bekalan Air ke Triang which was initiated in 2007 and had a total expenditure of RM512 Million. It included the construction of a tunnel, construction of Petaseh intake, installation of raw water pipes and the Sungai Triang Dam.

The Menteri Besar stated that the dam has a capacity of 110MLD (Million Litres per Day) and is capable of increasing the margin of untreated water in the Seremban, Mantin, Lenggeng, Nilai, Enstek and Sendayan regions. This in turn will reduce the problem of water supply disruption in the future.

According to him, water reserves in Negeri Sembilan is at its maximum and can endure for up to seven months in prolonged drought.

The launching ceremony was also attended by Negeri Sembilan State Secretary Dato’ Seri Mat Ali Hassan, Chairman of the State Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Action Committee Dato’ Jalaluddin Alias, Government Socioculture Advisor Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim and Director of Negeri Sembilan Water Company Sdn Bhd (SAINS), Wan Rasdi Wan Ismail.
