Seremban, 29 July 2020 (UKIK) — All mosques and surau in the state are allowed to hold congregational prayers for Hari Raya Aidiladha, which will be celebrated on July 31, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Haji Aminuddin Harun said.

He said this would include 1,063 suraus which have not been granted permission to hold Friday prayers, to help ease congestion in the mosques and surau on the day. However, the surau management must submit an application to the District Islamic Religious Office.

According to Aminuddin, the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Almarhum Tuanku Munawir was informed on the decision to allow Aidiladha prayers at all mosques and suraus in the state.

At the same time, he said setting up of tents would not be allowed at the mosque or surau premises on that day, to prevent mass gatherings. On the SOP for korban activities, he said only 50 workers and two representatives participating in the sacrificial rites are allowed at the location.
