Seremban, 25 August 2020 (Korporat SUKNS) -- The facilities of Jeram Tengkek recreational forest in Batu Kikir, here, will be upgraded to turn the area into another state tourist attraction.

Negeri Sembilan Urban Wellbeing, Housing, Local Government and New Villages Committee chairman Teo Kok Seong said the state government has allocated RM500,000 for the purpose.

Upgrading works have started and are expected to complete by Oct 21. the Negeri Sembilan government believed this recreational forest has the potential to be a tourist destination for the eastern part of Negeri Sembilan. The place is not only unique for its waterfall, but it is also close to Bukit Baginda and Orang Asli villages.

“We will definitely promote this place to attract local and interstate tourists,” he told reporters after a working visit to the recreational forest today. Also present, was state Women, Family and Welfare Committee chairman Nicole Tan Lee Koon.

within the first six months of this year, the forest had recorded some 2,000 visitors, and he hoped it will attract more visitors in the future.

The forest is part of the Serting Forest Reserve, located about 30 minutes’ drive from the town of Batu Kikir
