Minggu Inovasi Peringkat Negeri Sembilan 2019
Kuala Pilah, October 3, 2019 (Korporat SUKNS) - A total of 30 exhibitors are showcasing their innovative projects in an effort to inculcate a culture of innovation and creativity among the public at the Negeri Sembilan Innovation Week 2019 here.

The Negeri Sembilan government has always encouraged all government departments and agencies in the state to constantly improve the public service delivery system through the creation and discovery of new innovations.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said this was due to the fact that an efficient delivery system was crucial to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the state development policies and strategies.

“An efficient delivery system is essential to meet the demands of the people, the community and the growing business sector. Therefore, we need to review the existing service delivery system for the purpose of improvement,” he said here today.

He said this to reporters after launching the Negeri Sembilan Innovation Week 2019, organised by the state secretary's office here which was also attended by State Secretary, Dato’ Dr. Razali Ab Malik.

Government department and agencies needed to redouble their efforts to identify, evaluate and review existing practices to further enhance their service delivery system, he said.

“This include reviewing the existing work systems and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, equipment used and the level of skill of the organisation members in carrying out the work. Overall I am satisfied with the public service delivery system in the state, however it can be improved and refined,” he said.

Earlier, Aminuddin, when speaking at the event, said the state government planned to turn innovation as one of the key agendas in transforming the public sector.

“Innovation and transformation are inseparable to drive the implementation strategy in efforts to achieve high-income developed country status by 2020. As such, it is a priority of the state government to continue its efforts in furthering the culture of innovation and ensuring the government’s service delivery system to be faster, efficient and effective,” he said.

Meanwhile, also at the event, the Mvengers group from Negeri Sembilan Matriculation College was announced as the winner in the social innovation category; the EN9 group from the Negeri Sembilan Public Works Department (service delivery innovation category) and the De'Minang group from the state National Registration Department and state Islamic Religious Affairs Department (hybrid category).

The winners received RM5,000 cash prize, a trophy and a certificate each.

For those who are planning to visit the five-day Negeri Sembilan Innovation Week 2019, held in Kuala Pilah, beginning today, can participate in various activities including push bike, solar boat, science, innovation and technology exhibition, water rocket and Kuala Pilah fun ride.
